Abstract
Various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures should be considerably enhanced by the presentation of the data from a CT,NMR,PET or ultrasonic scan in holographic form. Initially we demonstrated a holographic presentation using a multiplex white light hologram formed from many x-rays of a cadavre's hand. We have explored various methods of computer generating a hologram and in this paper we report on our method of calculating a Fresnel hologram produced by the superposition of the Fresnel pattern from the individual planes of the CT scan. The limitations of the computer generation of holograms with respect to present and anticipated computer power and recording techniques are presented.
