Abstract
The advancements in machine vision technology have been substantial in recent years with the introduction of faster processors and the improvements in sensor technology. One area that is often neglected in machine vision applications is lighting considerations. For inspection of moving or non-moving parts, strobe lighting can offer unsurpassed advantages over other types of lighting. The objective of this article is to familiarize the reader with some of the techniques used in strobe light imaging with references made to real applications.
