Abstract
A reasonable layout of functional zones is the key to improve the connection of sea-rail intermodal transportation, boost the efficiency of collection and distribution, and reduce the costs. This paper focuses on the functional zones. Firstly, an initial improved layout is obtained through the improved Systematic Layout Planning Method (SLP). Then, a layout optimization model is proposed with the goals of minimizing the cost of collection and distribution in the container port and maximizing the overall comprehensive correlation strength between the functional zones. Finally, a genetic algorithm is designed to solve the model and derive the optimal functional zones layout. Through comparing original and optimized layout, the optimization goal definitely achieves. The transport cost nearly reduces by 5.74% and the objective function value reduces by 0.26.
