Abstract
Red mud is a kind of polluted waste residue discharged from extracting alumina in aluminum industry. If not handled properly, it will cause great harm to the ecological environment. The iron resource in red mud has the value of recycling, and it is a research hotspot at home and abroad. Iron extraction from red mud is the primary process of the red mud treatment process, and is the key to the subsequent treatment process of red mud. In this paper, taking the extraction of iron from Bayer red mud as the theme, several kinds of process methods for separation of iron, related research results at home and abroad and various process methods are introduced. This paper introduces the Bayer red mud iron extraction process and related equipment, which provides a certain research basis for the full quantitative treatment of red mud.
