Abstract
In order to further improve the versatility and serialization of the expansion keypad for ships, this paper details the design and implementation of a universal expansion keypad based on GD32, a microcontroller developed by a Chinese company, through hardware design, software design, universalization design and standardization design. The extended keypad designed in this paper can be applied to the current mainstream ship display consoles to further improve the versatility of the extended keypad. When different types of ships use customised extension keypads, only minor changes to the generic extension keypad are required to realise the corresponding functions, which greatly reduces the time and effort required for redesign and improves the versatility of the extension keypad.
