Abstract
Insect monitoring is vital for grassland management. In recent years, with the rise of the Internet of Things (IoT) technology, there are sufficient conditions for the automation of grassland insect population monitoring. This paper has designed and implemented an insect monitoring system for grassland management based on Python. The system allows 24-hour real-time monitoring of grassland insect populations and supports remote viewing of insect data by managers. The system uses embedded devices to monitor grassland insects in real time by taking pictures and uploading the insect picture information to the server through wireless network for picture processing, identifying and counting the number of insects, and then the insect information is displayed in real time on the information view screen in the server, so that managers can grasp the grassland insect situation remotely in real time. In this paper, through extensive testing, it is shown that the system achieves the insect monitoring function well and has the advantages of easy operation, high execution efficiency, strong stability and good scalability.
