Abstract
With the development of communication technology, direct-controlled loads represented by temperature-controlled loads provide a huge regulation potential for smart grids. Taking air source heat pumps as an example, this paper provides a strategy for temperature-controlled loads to participate in power system peaking based on an electro-thermal coupling model. The optimal cost function of peaking is constructed by considering the peaking revenue and user compensation and solved by the alternating direction multiplier method. The results show that the proposed peak-shaving technology can effectively shift the peak load of the grid and reduce the peak-shaving operation cost while ensuring the comfort of the temperature-controlled load users.
