Abstract
In this work we present a general approach in the theory of nonlinear spectroscopic ellipsometry (NSE) that is based on a very powerful and compact tensor operator formalism. Using such a theoretical treatment, we propose novel nonlinear spectroscopic techniques. The validity of our theoretical predictions is supported by the experimental results.
