Abstract

This paper introduces a gesture recognition method based on HMM (Hidden Markov Model). Because of HMM's special advantage in coping with temporal sequence, we used it on matching input gesture sequence with the typical gesture sequence, it not only get a good correctness and fault tolerance, but also can determine the begin and end of gestures from a series of input images. And using the skin distribution as gesture features got a robust result.
