Abstract
Biological tissue is a complex medium; only the anisotropy constant g is not enough to describe the scattering property in many situations. Here, the new introducing parameter γ was studied in detail. Our research shown that it is necessary to select appropriate phase function for the applied technology of medical diagnosis and the measurement of optical parameters, because parameter γ more dependents on phase function than parameter g1, and γ can provide the macrostructure information of tissue as an optical parameter independent of g.
