Abstract
An improved fiber optic connector alignment system for fiber optic cable links subjected to vibrations is proposed. It is based on interconnection with longitudinal gap. Model for analysis of proposed fiber optic connection is represented. It uses well known overlap integral method and modified Gaussian approximation been generalized on weakly guiding optical fibers with an arbitrary refractive index profile. Results of simulation of proposed connection under axial and angular misalignments and combination of both singlemode and multimode fibers are represented.
