Abstract
We have developed tunnel magnetoresistance sensor structures that exhibit an even-function resistance-magnetic field response that is symmetric with respect to the sign of the external magnetic field. These devices are promising for encoder sensors for position and rotation detection and also important for ultra-sensitive magnetic field sensors in combination with the AC modulation technique using AC magnetic fields. From the analysis of the noise in these devices under AC modulation magnetic field, we found that although the 1/f noise with electrical origin is effectively suppressed, the magnetic 1/f noise is also transferred to around the frequency of the AC modulation.
