Add to FacebookThis paper describes the joint US & UK International Technology Alliance (ITA) basic research programme in Network and Information Science (NIS), with a particular focus on the elements of the research programme concerned with the processing of sensor information and the delivery of sensor derived information and intelligence to the users. The paper provides a view of both the benefits and the main challenges being addressed by the NIS ITA, with a particular focus on Sensor Information Processing and Delivery (SIPD): SIPD is one of the four key thrusts within the NIS ITA.
