Hanieh Ajami is a dedicated graduate student at SIUE, pursuing a master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Her research focuses on digital image processing, computer vision, machine learning, and Deep learning for medical applications. Under Dr. Scott Umbaugh's guidance, she works on automating white matter lesion segmentation in Multiple Sclerosis patients' MRI images using FCNN architectures. Her active involvement in the Image Processing lab showcases her commitment to advancing medical imaging techniques. Hanieh has received prestigious awards, including Academic Excellence Award, GEO (Geographic Enhancement Opportunity Award), RGGS (Research Grants for Graduate Students), and Graduate Student Travel Grant for her outstanding contributions to the field. With a strong foundation in deep learning and a passion for improving healthcare, Hanieh is poised to make significant contributions in her field.
