Javier A. Concha, M.S. is a Ph.D. candidate in Imaging Science working at the Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science, Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), under the supervision of Dr. John R. Schott. He earned his Bachelor degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Concepcion, Concepcion, Chile in 2008. During 2009, he worked as a research assistant in the Geophysics Department at the same institution. Prior to beginning the Ph.D. program, Javier received his Master in Science in Imaging Science degree from RIT as a Fulbright scholar. His research interest includes remote sensing, ocean color, and atmospheric correction. Javier was named 2014 Student of the Year by the Central New York Region of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS). In addition to pursuing his Ph.D., he is an officer of the SPIE student chapter at his institution, and a member of Toastmaster International and the National Society of Leadership and Success.
