We systematically study the spin-orbit torque (SOT) and the thermoelectric effects in sputtered BiSb/CoFeB bilayers using the second harmonic Hall resistance (R2𝜔) technique. The R2𝜔 signal was measured as a function of the azimuthal angle and the magnitude of an external field. We develop a general protocol to unambiguously separate the SOT-induced R2𝜔 signal from that generated by the thermoelectric effects (anomalous Nernst effect, spin Seebeck effect and ordinary Nernst effect). At room temperature, we find a damping-like spin Hall efficiency of ~+0.65 in BiSb/CoFeB heterostructures, which is significantly higher than that found in heavy metal/ferromagnet bilayers. The BiSb thickness dependence, temperature and BiSb alloy composition dependence of R2𝜔 will be discussed in the presentation.
