In this paper, we propose and design a photonic integrated circuit capable of handling multiplication of a 64-long vector and a 64x64 matrix for vector-matrix multiplication acceleration in optical domain. With close integration of the photonic integrated circuit with a co-designed electronic integrated circuit, we demonstrated acceleration of Ising model and achieved over 800x speedup compared to a traditional GPU.
