Abstract
In this article, we present the first-ever mode-resolved bending loss measurement for Large-mode-aera (LMA) fiber based on S2 mode measurement method. The new method can be extended to measure the bending loss of all high order modes (HOMs) of LMA fiber at different bending radii, which is more accurate than previously reported methods. What is more, it can provide guidance for the design and control of LMA fiber, and provide parameter basis for the beam quality optimization of high-power fiber laser (HPFL) system.
