Abstract
We have developed a software package called 3D PHOVIS (3D Photoacoustic Visualization Studio) to support 3D volume data visualization in academia. It was developed with MATLAB-based graphical user interface software that utilizes CPU and GPU parallel computing technology to provide a convenient real-time working environment. 3D PHOVIS includes five modules, which can help volume stitching, scanning distortion removing, depth encoded visualization, and volume rendering with 3D photoacoustic data. It also supports 3D movie generation. In this presentation, we will interpret the algorithms and principles used in software development, and demonstrate its function with several examples.
