Abstract
The absorption time-resolved profiles of ozone and emission signals near 567 nm in O3-N2 mixture after the 266 nm laser photolysis were investigated. The unknown effect of rapid ozone decomposition was observed. It was shown that the main contribution into the loss of О3 in the postphotolysis zone is made by the reaction О3 + O2(a1g, v>2). O2(a1g, v>2) is produced as a result of collisional relaxation of the atomic oxygen recombination O + O + N2 products. It was demonstrated that the rapid depletion of O3 occurs in the presence of О2(c1Σu-). On the basis of this fact a new mechanism of ozone loss kinetics was proposed.
