In this study we investigated the relationship between the ASY-H index, characterizing the intensity of the partial ring current, and the interplanetary medium parameters during the main phase of magnetic storms, induced by different types of solar wind (SW). For the period of 1979-2017, 107 magnetic storms induced by the CIR and ICME (MC + Ejecta) events are selected. The magnetic storms with values of Dstmin ≤ -50 nТ are considered. It is shown that average value of the ASY-H index (ASYaver) during the main phase of magnetic storm increases with the growth the SW electric field and southward IMF Bz regardless to the SW type. The relation between the ASYaver and SW velocity is absent. The SW type does not affect ASYaver variations.
