Abstract
Continuous rigid frame bridges have been widely used in China in the past few decades. Due to the lack of theoretical understanding of early design, some bridges appeared serious diseases such as box girder deflection and cracking, resulting in the decrease of their bearing capacity. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out the research on bearing capacity detection and evaluation. By analyzing the key parameters of bearing capacity evaluation of two continuous rigid frame bridges on a highway, such as structural appearance and cracks, concrete strength, deflection of main girder, prestress loss and load test results, the test methods and effects of each parameter are expounded and analyzed in the paper. The results show that: Prestress loss can be estimated according to the deflection of main beam and used as the key parameter of bearing capacity calculation, and the permanent measurement point of bridge deck must be set up and measured when the bridge is completed; Concrete strength should be determined by the most appropriate method according to the bridge's specific technical condition and the measured results; Apparent and strength defects and prestress loss of the bridge can’t be directly reflected in the static load test results, and its bearing capacity needs to be comprehensively determined in combination with the appearance, concrete strength, beam deflection and other test results as well as the structural calculation results.
