Abstract
Biofuel is a kind of new energy source which has the advantage of traditional fossil fuels over environment protection issues. It can be produced from plant oils and animal fats, and it produces less greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide. In recent years the production technology of biofuel has been well developed, both the production and the demand rise every year. Since it will be widely used, a complete logistics system should be developed to solve the transportation issues. Vehicle routing problem a.k.a. VRP is one of the transportation problems, it refers to a kind of address problems, the goal of VRP is to figure out the best location of some entities of the logistics system such as the producer, deliver center etc.to minimum the transportation costs. A kind of mathematical models can solve VRP, such as Cluster-First Route-Second Method, Saving algorithm and so on. To build up a complete logistics system for biofuel, they are Indispensable. This paper will show a typical VRP in biofuel logistics system, it will analyze a sample of the Indonesia biodiesel logistics line to figure out the best address of CPO suppliers to satisfied the delivery demand while minimum the transportation cost, and use saving matrix algorithm to solve it and analyze the result.
