Abstract
Electrochemical biosensors are a kind of biosensors with the electrode as the signal converter, biological substances as sensitive elements and voltage or current as a detection signal, which have unique advantages in improving sensitivity and selectivity. Microfluidic technology has the characteristics of high sensitivity, high throughput, high integration, and low reagent consumption. It has strong applications in the field of analytical chemistry. Microfluidic chips have the benefits of small sample size, low detection cost and short detection time. It can build a high sensitivity, reproducible and portable detection system with electrochemical sensors. This review introduces the basic concept of a microfluidic-based electrochemical biosensing platform and its applications in recent years. Various microfluidic biosensing platforms have been developed, which are applied in many fields, such as life sciences, public health, clinical medicine, and environmental monitoring. There is a brief introduction to point-of-care tests and wearable microfluidic chips.
