Abstract
This paper mainly studies the application of DBSCAN and kernel density analysis methods in identifying accident-prone areas in the scene division of the diversion area of a highway, and compares the two methods. Firstly, 150 traffic accident data in a four-lane highway diversion area were collected, and the spatial correlation analysis was used to prove the clustering of accidents. Secondly, DBSCAN and kernel density methods were used for clustering analysis of the 150 traffic accident data, and their respective accident-prone areas were identified. Finally, an evaluation index Z value considering the total equivalent accidents and the average distance between accident points was used to compare and evaluate the accident-proneness in each area, and the advantages and disadvantages of the two methods were discussed. The research results of this article indicate that DBSCAN performs better in identifying multiple accident-prone areas in microscenes, while kernel density analysis can only identify a small number of accident-prone areas. This article provides theoretical basis and methods for the traffic safety management of highway diversion areas and even other short-distance areas.
