Abstract
Nonlinear interaction due to Kerr effect between two linearly polarized modes in a single mode optical fiber and its various manifestations have been investigated very intensively (see e.g. [1]), solely using the classical treatment. To describe nonclassical effects it is necessary to use the methods of quantum optics.
