Abstract
The paper introduces a composite filter that combines Gaussian and edge filters, designed specifically for image processing tasks. This filter offers advantages such as multi-scale feature extraction, edge enhancement, noise suppression, stability, and flexibility. Experimental results demonstrate that the composite filter performs excellently in improving image quality, highlighting details, and reducing noise. Particularly in the context of medical CT imaging, it proves highly effective and can be widely applied in feature extraction, edge detection, and noise reduction tasks. The approach balances smoothness with edge preservation by first using a Gaussian filter to smooth the image and reduce noise, followed by convolution with the edge filter to enhance edges, ultimately producing a filter result that is both smooth and edge-preserving. Therefore, the composite filter holds significant potential for extensive applications in the field of image processing.
