Abstract
Tongue squamous cell carcinoma (TSCC) is an oral cancer affecting the epithelial cells of the tongue. It is a serious and potentially lethal disease that requires prompt diagnosis and treatment. Multiple genes associated with immunity have been discovered as crucial in the growth and progression of cancer. In this research, we analyzed the gene expression profiles of patients with TSCC from TCGA database. A prognostic model for TSCC was established using five immune-related genes: TRAP1, LAT, NPY, IL20, and LBP. The prognostic model demonstrated its effectiveness, reliability, and stability through Kaplan-Meier, ROC curve, and both univariate and multivariate analysis. This immune-based prognostic model offers a biomarker for monitoring long-term treatment outcomes in TSCC but also suggests a potential immunotherapy approach for this disease.
