30 August 1993 Normal state Yba2Cu3O7-δ films: a new detector for far infrared laser radiation

Abstract
Room temperature YBa2Cu307_6 films, epitaxially grown on specially cut substrates are shown to be effectivedetectors of high power far infrared laser pulses. For a 40 nm thick film we have measured a responsivity of(5 ± 2) x 10-7V/W, independent of frequency in the range from 20 cm-1 to 110 cm'. The response time isdetermined by thermal diffusion, giving a 200 MHz bandwidth for this film thickness.
