Abstract
The frequency dependent optical and dielectric properties of binary semiconducting glasses in thesystem (V205)60 (Te02)4o-x (Pb0)x were measured as a function of lead content. It was found that theoptical phonon frequencies, and the reflectance minima in the oxide glasses appear to shiftdrastically towards the lower frequency as the PbO is partially substituted in these glasses. Theactivation energy calculated on the basis of effective dielectric constant appears to decrease uponthe substitution of PbO.
