The paper presents transmission diffraction gratings as radiation splitters. The solution of the diffraction integral is obtained by expansion in Fourier transform. The resulting analytic expression facilitates consideration of phase gratings of any shallow profiles and is convenient for fast numerical computation. Such computation has been carried with splitting coefficient and its error taken into consideration. We obtain optical signals from triangularly, rectangularly and sinusoidally shaped grooves.
