Abstract

The high order harmonic generation process due to the interaction of a multi-well quantum system with an intense laser field is examined. A plateau extension up to a photon energy of I_p + 8U_p and the generation of attosecond pulses are evidenced. The influence of the intermediate ions on the conversion efficiency and on the plateau extension is studied.
