Abstract
Many modern automobiles have recently been equipped with a range of various cameras, including rear, front and side view cameras. Consequently, evaluating camera quality has become important. However, existing camera quality measurement methods standardized by ISO do not consider subjective ratings. In this paper, we propose a new perceptual video quality measurement method for automotive cameras. The proposed method measures stability, contrast and intensity metrics in text regions. Video sequences were captured with a number of automotive cameras and several subjective tests were conducted. The results show that the proposed method produced good correlations with subjective ratings.
