Abstract
To select an instrument suitable to a particular application, the user needs to understand how to determine and specify its required performance. This chapter discusses the performance parameters of radiation thermometers and IR cameras (point-sensing instruments and scanning and imaging instruments respectively) and their significance in solving applications.
Since IR cameras are essentially extensions of radiation thermometers, I will demonstrate that many of the parameters are common to both.
