In order to find the best measurement method to get the most reasonable result, the test on oblique elliptical cylinder of transfer arm precision component is studied in this paper. The oblique elliptical cylinder is measured through Qindos 7.0 of PMM-C. Firstly, pivoting support is adopted to compensate the tilt angle. Then coordinates is set approximately to get a standard elliptic equation which result in an axis. This axes will be used to modify the coordinates set previously. Such a modification is repeated multiple times until to get a more precise axes. Meanwhile multi-constraint approaches successively to measure major and minor axis of ellipse. Experiment shows that sophisticated parts can be tested through the method stated in this paper and the result is more precise.
