The control rod drive mechanism is one of the key equipment of space nuclear power plant, The safety of the reactor directly depends on whether the control rod drum system can operate well or not. The electromagnetic lock is the key component of control rod drive mechanism, After space nuclear power plant starts operating, it’s necessary that control rod drive mechanism keep rod up, this status holds since the electromagnetic lock keeps working all the time. Since the electromagnetic lock is a long-term on lock in the environment which is high-temperature irradiation and vacuum. It’s necessary check whether it works normally by tests. Temperature rise of electromagnetic lock has risen to 61℃ and exceeds its temperature tolerance, after keep locking 1h,the electromagnetic lock coil shorts circuit then causes the control rod down abnormally. After analyzing working principle and influence factors of the performance parameters of electromagnetic lock, we propose the solution of power switch then bring it into force and test on the electromagnetic lock, Temperature rise keeps a steady number which is under 18℃, it’s obvious temperature rise is lower than former , also it is lower than temperature tolerance of electromagnetic lock. After this solution is used , we believe the space nuclear power plant operates reliably.
