Here, we present an integrated Lab-on-a-Chip (LOC) system based on silicon microring resonator devices. The system
comprises of an electrical tracing-assisted silicon dual-microring sensor which requires a low-cost broadband light
source instead of a bulky and expensive tunable laser therefore allows the development of cost-effective point-of-care
(POC) diagnostic device. Highly efficient and fast nucleic acids detection with silicon microring device is demonstrated
using an isothermal solid-phase amplification/detection (ISAD) technique. The integrated LOC system consists of dualmicroring
sensors and microfluidic device for sample processing together with ISAD technique offers true realization of
POC device for human disease diagnosis.
