Profile Summary

Özgür Kaya has acquired his B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Koç University, Istanbul, his M.Sc. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Delft University of Technology, and is currently a PhD candidate at Bogazici University’s Biomedical Engineering Institute, Istanbul where he works as a research assistant at the Biophotonics Laboratory. At Koç University, he worked in the Optical Microsystems Laboratory. During his studies in the Delft University of Technology, he also worked as a research assistant in the Experimental Echocardiography Group of Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam, and completed his masters thesis on the visualisation of ultrasound harmonics using bandpass Schlieren technique. Özgür’s research interests include laser-tissue interactions, thermal control of laser exposure and surgical fiber catheter design.
