Profile Summary

Tommaso is the co-founder and CEO of QTI SRL, the first Italian quantum communications company, developing and producing Quantum Key Distribution systems (QKD) in fiber optical and free space applications.

Thanks to the work of a team of quantum experts and entrepreneurs, QTI works with the vision of spreading the use of quantum technologies in industry, government, and military organizations to guarantee the ultimate security of digital communications.
In 2021, part of the company’s shares has been acquired by Telsy S.p.A., cybersecurity and cryptography competence centre of the TIM Group. This partnership has allowed the development of a fully entrusted end-to-end encryption system, compatible with current telecommunication infrastructure for civil and military applications.

Tommaso is the owner and founder of Oengineering SRL, company dedicated to the development and production of new opto-electronic solutions for the industry, defense and environmental monitoring.

Tommaso is also one of the founders of Adaptica SRL, specialised in eye-care diagnostic instruments design and production with primary focus on ophthalmology.

He received his PhD in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Padova (Italy) and a Master in Telecommunication Economics and Technologies.

During the PhD he was part of large international research projects in (quantum) astronomy making special instrumentation for ESO (European Southern Observatory) and he studied and developed a free space Quantum Key Distribution system.

He is the member of SPIE and IEEE and contributed to the research community with many works, conference talks and papers in collaboration with research institutions in Italy and abroad.
