Nurul Azam graduated from Auburn University with a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering. His area of expertise is the development of next-generation electronics, with a specific focus on using laser technology to synthesize two-dimensional TMDC materials. Using this method, he has successfully synthesized high-quality single crystals of various monolayer TMDCs such as MoS2, WS2, MoSe2, WSe2, and WTe2. He has also developed a unique technique to induce vacancies in these materials with atomic precision. He has achieved the highest growth rate of TMDC crystals on non-catalytic substrates. He has extensive experience in advanced nano-material synthesis, processing, electronic device fabrication, and material characterization techniques.
