Profile Summary

Dr. Weijian Yang is an assistant professor at department of electrical and computer engineering at University of California, Davis. He received the B.S. degree in electronics engineering and computer science from Peking University, Beijing, China, in 2008, and Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, CA, USA, in 2013. From 2014 to 2017, He was with the department of biological sciences at Columbia University, NY, USA as a postdoctoral researcher, and worked on optical microscopy for brain imaging and modulation, neurotechnologies and neurosciences.

His research interests lie at the intersection of electrical engineering, biomedical engineering and neuroscience. Specifically, he is interested in optical microscopy, biophotonics, integrated optics and optoelectronics, neuroengineering and using advanced technologies to study the functional organization and plasticity of neural circuits. He published more than 90 papers in journals and conference proceedings. He is a recipient of the Career Awards at the Scientific Interface from Burroughs Wellcome Fund in 2016, and the NSF Early Career Award in 2019.
