Abstract
It is a major research focus of battlefield situation visualization to identify targets quickly when the background has a similar color. A 3D heat map display technique based on volume rendering is presented in this paper. The method uses an improved kernel density function of a dual-kernel heat map and an ellipsoidal ray casting algorithm. In this paper, the method is verified by experiments, and its superiority is illustrated from many aspects. This method can not only quickly identify the target when the color of the target is similar to that of the background, but also distinguish the importance of the target. In addition, the ellipsoid ray casting algorithm can be used to perspective the potential in 3D space to a certain extent.
