Abstract
In this paper, based on the I-V, C-V characteristics of 4H-SiC PIN detector and the characteristics of output current signal, two front-end readout circuits with different conversion gains and a digital data acquisition system (DAQ) based on high-speed ADC (AD9226) and FPGA (Zynq7020) were designed and developed. The front-end circuit of the detector is a charge sensitive amplifier circuit based on the high bandwidth operational amplifier (ADI ADA4817), which completes the Q-V conversion and filter shaping of the charge signal. The data acquisition system (DAQ) converts the front-end signal to analog with a resolution of 12 bits and a sampling rate of 50MSPS, and collects, stores and analyzes the energy spectrum data, and finally sends it to the upper computer through serial port. The conversion gain of the front-end circuit and the energy resolution of the system to α particles are measured and analyzed. The conversion gains of the designed two front-end readout circuits are 4.11V/pC and 8.42V/pC respectively in the dynamic range of input charge of 20~420fC and 20~200fC, the integral nonlinearity is 0.52% and 2.6% respectively, and the highest counting rates are 1MHz and 500kHz respectively. The 239Pu α source with factory activity of 6.0×105Bq was used for energy spectrum readout test of the system. The energy resolution of 4H-SiC detection system composed of two front-end readout circuits with different conversion gains is 6.94% and 7.96% respectively.
