Abstract
With more and more attention being paid to energy and environment, electric vehicles have ushered in a new era. Batteries have been widely adopted as power source because of its superior performance and low-pollution characteristics is one of main factors affecting battery performance. Heat accumulation will have a serious bad influence on the life and performance of the battery, and may even result in the burning or explosion of the battery. In this paper, based on the heat generation mechanism of battery, a three-dimensional model of 18650 Battery at 27℃ is established, subsequently, a module of battery pack of electric vehicle is selected as the research object, and the existing serpentine water cooling plate is adopted to improve the structure, thus ensuring the battery work in the best working temperature range and simultaneously improving the temperature homogeneity of the pack as much as possible. According to the results, the average surface temperature of the pack is 42.87℃and the maximum temperature difference of the pack is 4.82℃ when the reverse flow rate is 2m/s and battery coverage angle is 140°and 220° on the battery side in low and high temperature area. The heat dissipation performance of the battery can be enhanced and the temperature homogeneity of the pack can be improved by changing the cold plate’s covering angle reasonably.
