To begin with, the inductance calculation of planar spiral coils for the wireless energy transmission system of implantable cardiac pacemakers was introduced, with a focus on the calculation of mutual inductance between equally-sized coaxial coils. Then, the effects of primary and secondary coil parameters, such as radial distance and number of turns, on mutual inductance were analyzed. The results show that the mutual inductance declines as the transmission distance increases, and it can reach a maximum value in case of a change in the number of turns.
