Abstract
With the rapid development of computer networks, a vast amount of information is transmitted and stored within them. However, each node within these networks could potentially be a source of information leakage. In order to protect data security, network security scanning is a necessary practice. This paper presents a Python scheduler for optimizing the performance of scanning multiple target IP addresses using the open-source network scanning software, nmap. The paper also examines the efficiency of multi-threaded calls to nmap by experimentally testing different numbers of target IPs and threads. By adjusting the number of threads appropriately, the scanning efficiency of multiple target IP addresses by nmap can be improved.
