Abstract
International Maritime Organization on its Additional safety measures V/20.2 of International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) ordered that those ships bigger than 3000 tons must be equipped with Simplified Voyage Data Recorder (SVDR). SVDR contained mass of speech data; current search was very difficult to find interested data. How to search the interested data efficiently was a new subject. Some frequency couldn't be heard because of the masking of human's ear, but it affected speech recognition, and linear coefficient wasn't suitable for human hearing. So in the system, data was dealt with Psychoacoustics model and output was transformed into Mel Frequency Cepstrum Coefficients (MFCC). It could improve the efficiency of recognition. Speech signal was doubly stochastic processes. So Hidden Markov Model was applicable to speech recognition. Simulation used by matlab and HTK3.0 proved the system can improve search speed greatly.
