Abstract
Aiming at reducing the nonlinear characteristics of the wide-band satellite modulator, a model of the wide-band modulator is proposed and the dominating reasons leading to distortions are analyzed. Base-band compensation methods based on this model are provided to minimize the performance degradation. These methods are applied to a 500MHz wide-band modulator. The result shows the EVM of the modulated constellation is improved from 22.5% to 12.5%.
