Profile Summary

Alan Schaum earned a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from The Johns Hopkins University. He applied information and queueing theory to communication problems at Bell Labs until its breakup in 1983. Since then, he has developed signal and image processing methods for threat detection at the US Naval Research Laboratory. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and a Fellow of both SPIE and the Military Sensing Symposium.
