I joined the Open Photonics team in 2013 in search of product development projects with real commercial impact. I have surveyed technology markets and lead product development teams to deliver on various OPI projects.
Prior to joining OPI, I conducted research into the integration and fabrication of chip-scale photonic devices at CREOL, the College of Optics at the University of Central Florida under Winston Schoenfeld. My scope of work at UCF included the full range of semiconductor fabrication – thin film growth and deposition, lithography, and packaging.
As a volunteer in the technology community, I am a Steering Committee member of the National Photonics Initiative and chair the NPI Taskforce on Education & Workforce Development. I am a member of SPIE's IT Committee, OSA, The Optical Society’s Public Policy Committee, and have been an active force in representing the high-tech community’s interests in Washington D.C. since 2008.
M.S. and Ph.D in Optics from CREOL – University of Central Florida
B.S. in Physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
